NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. - Sept. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida is asking for the community’s assistance in collecting supplies for Trailways Camp, a five-day residential camp for adults with disabilities. Goodwill will host a week-long donation drive, now through Sept. 14th, at four Southwest Florida Goodwill Retail & Donation Centers.

Trailways Camp is a partnership between Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida and the Robert V. and Benjamin G. Miller Fund. The mission of Trailways Camp is to remove the social isolation often felt by people with disabilities by providing opportunities for fun, friends and support. Through outdoor activities, group exercises, crafts, and more, campers have the opportunity to develop recreational skills and build relationships.

Camp donations will be accepted at four Goodwill locations: Sanibel Island, Cape Coral (Chiquita Blvd.) and Fort Myers (Plantation Rd) and Naples (Pine Ridge Rd.).  Donors are asked to tell the donation attendant that the items are specifically for Trailways Camp.

Needed items include arts and crafts supplies, travel-sized toiletries, sporting equipment, fishing poles and fishing equipment, and more.  Donors will receive a 50% Goodwill coupon in exchange for their Trailways Camp donation.

A full wish list of needed items is available on Goodwill’s website at www.goodwillswfl.org/trailwayscamp. Gift cards to stores that sell these items are also welcome.

Trailways Camp is also accepting applications for its October session at Riverside Retreat Center in LaBelle. Adults (18+) with any kind of disabilities are welcome to apply. An application can be found on Goodwill’s website at www.goodwillswfl.org/trailwayscamp.

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida is committed to serving people with disabilities and disadvantages by providing life-changing opportunities to achieve independence.  Supported programs in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades Counties include Trailways Camp, Job-Link centers, disability accessible housing, and the Goodwill L.I.F.E. Academy, a charter school for middle and high school students with intellectual disabilities.

The Robert V. and Benjamin G.
