Villa de San Antonio by Kisco Senior Living Celebrates 2013 Active Aging Week

SAN ANTONIO - Sept. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 Active Aging Week theme “Discover Your Community” recognizes the important role that older adults play in a host of communities including vocational, geographical and cultural.  They are sources for history and leadership, caring and friendship.  As neighbors, club members, working professionals or volunteers, older adults are involved in their community.   Kisco Senior Living communities including Villa de San Antonio will host fun and exciting events that are open to the public during this week of national observance as part of their overall wellness programs and to celebrate seniors’ full participation in diverse areas of life.

Kisco Senior Living and its 20 communities in six states participate in the festivities every year along with their residents and the greater community. The company also partners with the International Council on Active Aging’s (ICAA) Changing the Way We Age® Campaign, an initiative that aims to shift the way society perceives aging.

Celebrate Active Aging Week with  Villa de San Antonio residents and enjoy a host of activities beginning Monday, September 23 at 10:00 a.m. with a Downtown River Boat Historical Tour.  The week’s schedule includes:

Tuesday, Sept. 24 – 10:00 a.m. Presentation on Being Well with Neuropathy and 1:00 p.m. exercise presentation by Zumba Gold

Wednesday, Sept. 25 – 4:00 p.m. Live music featuring  resident favorite Singer Bella Noelle

Thursday, Sept. 26 – 10:00 a.m. Excursion to Texas wine country and 1:00 p.m. presentation by San Antonio OASIS  Community Volunteers

Friday, Sept. 27 – 3:00 p.m. presentation by Pet Therapy
