TOMBALL, Texas - Sept. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- The Implantable Artificial Kidney Corporation was recently created as a means to further the development of the artificial kidney invented by scientist Charles E. Jennings.  The device is designed to function in the same manner as a human kidney. This means it is intended to extract waste, and keep the nutrients needed by the body. It is designed to not be rejected by the body, eliminating the post-operative immunosuppressant’s and frequent patient monitoring that a human kidney transplant patient would require for the rest of his life. It is designed to create urine immediately after being implanted, unlike a human implanted kidney, which may take 2 weeks or longer to begin functioning.

The design involves using special filters and reverse osmosis to separate waste material and water. It is small, approximate 4” long x 2” wide x ½” high, and is built using plastic materials that won’t be rejected by the body. It can be implanted or worn outside the body.

CEO Roland G. Ludlow said “The simplicity of design and its small size make it unique. Past in-house tests separated the materials effectively. Mr. Jennings recently made some upgrades to the prototype, and Christina White, our Chief Design Officer is busy producing new CAD drawings. It will soon be ready for a full test by a third party ISO accredited laboratory. We are extremely excited about its potential”.

The company’s new website, created by Chief Information Officer Eugene Nikishev, is up and running. People can go to it and find news, and can subscribe to receive progress updates by email as well.

Mr. Charles E. Jennings has spent his life working as a scientist, engineer, and inventor. He has 53 patents filed with the US patent office, and several more pending. In the late seventies he was project engineer for Baker International, (Now Baker Hughes Incorporated), and was promoted to V.P. at their P.A. division. Later he moved on and spent several years as Design Product Engineer at FMC Corporation. In the early eighty’s he was hired by Vetco Grey, (Recently acquired by G.E.) an oil exploration company.

In his role as scientist/engineer/inventor for Vetco Grey, he solved challenging technical problems with offshore and onshore oil platforms. He improved, innovated, and designed new equipment that helped advance the industry. He has a full understanding of mechanical engineering, chemistry, propulsion, and hydraulics. He was the main creator and inventor of the fire safe wellhead that is now in use worldwide. Mr. Jennings has the gifted ability to solve difficult design and engineering problems. His inventions have been used by NASA, U.S. Steel, Astroworld, Igloo, Blue-Water Marine, and many more. Mr. Jennings retired from Vetco Grey in 2012 His patents can be found at Google patents, or at uspto.gov.
