MCCALL, Idaho - Sept. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- During the month of September, The McCall Art Commerce Center in McCall is hosting Idaho artists; Ken Newman, Donna Bernstein, JR Eason, David Armstrong and Donna Armstrong. The Gallery/Studio is open Fridays-Sundays from 10-5pm and by appointment.  An Artist Reception is being held on Saturday, September 14; from 5:30-8pm ~ a perfect time to admire and acquire art from nationally recognized Idaho artists.

Ken Newman, a member of the National Sculpture Society, has set up a temporary studio and is sculpting daily through mid-October adjacent to Donna Bernstein, a painter who has a permanent studio in the complex.

Newman genres include wildlife and figurative and this fall sculptures will be exhibited in the 100th Annual Allied Artists of American Exhibition at the National Art Club in NYC, Performance in Sculpture, sponsored by the National Sculpture Society at the David A Straz Performing Art Center in Tampa FL, and in Wildlife Experience in Art at The Wildlife Experience in Parker CO.  Ken Newman has gallery representation in Ketchum, Scottsdale, Wyoming and Colorado.

Ken believes visiting an artist in a working studio gives the client/viewer a unique understanding on how and why artists do what they do. The sculptures Ken creates are a reflection of his journey and an effort to interpret and understand the world by sharing those thoughts in sculpture.  You are personally invited to visit the studio in McCall.

Donna B's paintings are currently on exhibit in the 8th Biennial Juried event ART Idaho, at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho, in Idaho Falls. She has gallery representation in San Diego, New York, Boise, Scottsdale and Dallas.

Her large-scale works reflect a horse's "Big energy", Donna explains. "It is not horses that I paint; I paint how they make me feel." Donna expresses a signature contemporary flair for the classic horse in her "Urban Equine" pieces. Her work also includes "Uncommon Abstractions", purely abstract paintings.  All reflecting the movement of life!"

Sculptor JR Eason from Idaho Falls is featuring her female figurative sculptures. Be it Native American, cross-cultural women, or the cowboy, her personal style reflects her motto ~ for her work is “pure art from her heart...and mind’s eye.”  JR says she "sculpts what she knows best ~ people and their universal emotions. In doing this, I draw from my own well of emotion and finds it unnecessary to rely on photos or any means outside of my “self”.

The McCall Art + Commerce Center owners, Dave and Donna Armstrong enjoy bringing the Arts into the community   Dave has been an integral part of the Centennial Park design and in the gallery he is releasing his new architectural furniture and Japanese influence sculptures. Donna, a GIA Graduate Gemologist and Goldsmith, will feature her original hand crafted jewelry.  Utilizing time consuming techniques from the past, reticulation, fusion, and chain mail she creates contemporary wearable art with precious metals, gemstones and passion.

With fall just around the corner in McCall, schedule a trip to meet and greet these incredible Idaho artists.  The Gallery/Studios are located at the McCall Art + Commerce Center, 125 Commerce Street across the street from the Post Office. The Gallery/Studio is open on Fridays through Sundays 10am-5pm or by appointment. For more information call: Ken or Debbie at 208 337-8408 or drop us an email at info@kennewmansculptures.com
