Moonshiner Collective’s first album “Let Go” is an indie folk rock record infused with California soul. It showcases Dan Curcio alongside talented multi-instrumentalist Nathan Towne. Curcio brings his nostalgic, airy croons, and along with Towne, intricately layers an eclectic array of instruments. “Beautiful, emotive, and picturesque language fills this new album,” said Glen Starkey of New Times SLO, “Dan’s voice has the same infectious charm as Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, or Eddie Vedder.” Together, Moonshiner Collective creates a lush, full band sound with vocal harmonies, guitars, keys, banjo, bass, harmonica, violin, ukulele, drums and percussion.
This breakout album carries strong messages of simplicity and positivity, considered a 14-part collection of stories, each covering different aspects of what it truly means to let go. Letting go was something Dan Curcio himself grappled with when deciding to pare down his life and move to a yurt off the coast of California to write his first album as Moonshiner Collective.
“It’s much easier said than done, but I think when we truly appreciate and embrace the journey of getting there, we find that the goal is often secondary and the fulfillment and true happiness are often found right in front of our faces.” said Curcio in his New Times SLO interview, “Let Go is deeply inspired by this sentiment, and each song reflects a different aspect of what it means to be in tune with the journey.”
