German retail specialist, ACREST, boosts letting team

Sept. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- The ACREST Property Group GmbH has expanded its retail letting department with the appointment of Sören Sonnenburg who has joined the eleven-person team as Senior Letting Manager.

The 43-year-old is responsible for Shopping Centre lettings within the team, led by Elke Lauster, which handles the lettings for the 400 properties ACREST manages.

Sonnenburg joined from shopping centre specialist mfi management fur immobilien AG in Essen, where, as Senior Manager Leasing, he was responsible for the Mönchengladbach Arcaden project.

He previously worked for four years as Director Real Estate at Foot Locker Germany GmbH & Co. KG, responsible for the expansion of the company in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. He was also employed, for almost ten years, by ECE Projektmanagement G.m.b.H & Co. KG as letting manager for properties including Eastgate Berlin, the Stern-Center Potsdam and the Allee-Center Berlin.

ACREST Property GmbH specialises in German retail property. The company, which was founded in Berlin in 2005, now has more than 120 staff and manages property assets worth 3.7 bn Euro, with a total floor area of 2.5 million sq m. The Investment, Technical Management, Asset Management, Property Management, Centre Management, Consulting and Retail Letting departments are integrated under one roof. ACREST adopts an integrated approach to the management of retail property and is a “one-stop shop” for real estate investors. The around 400 properties ACREST currently manages include around 90 Woolworth properties in Germany and Austria, 43 Metro Group locations, various retail warehouse centres and numerous commercial buildings in town and city centre locations. Current project developments include the around 36,000 sq m Opel Forum in Rüsselsheim and the Staufen Galerie in Göppingen, which has a lettable area of approx. 30,000 sq m.
