All 20 BWFF Official Selections shown on that Saturday at the McMorran Place Theatre will be adjudicated by the following group of industry leaders:
Chris Gore - Chris Gore is a comedian and writer who was a regular on G4TV's Attack of the Show. He is the founder of Film Threat magazine, the author of several movie books, writer/producer of the feature comedy My Big Fat Independent Movie and his monthly podcast is PodCRASH with That Chris Gore. As an author he penned the “Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide”. Chris currently co-hosts, Geektime, with Ralph Cirella each Friday on SiriusXM Howard 101 where he provides news and commentary from the world of geekdom. His latest project is a comedy album/book titled "Celebrities Poop".

Steve Bannatyne –Port Huron native, Steve Bannatyne is a producer and co-founder of Lucky Hat Entertainment, which has produced such acclaimed films as If A Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front, 2012 Academy Award nominee for Best Documentary Feature; The Order of Myths, winner of a 2009 Peabody Award; Goodbye Solo, named one of the top 10 films of 2009 by Roger Ebert and Informant, winner of the 2012 Grand Jury Prize at DOC NYC. Steve's upcoming projects include the film adaptation of Z for Zachariah, starring Amanda Seyfried and Chris Pine; Freedom Fighters, a documentary about wrongful convictions, Manson Family Vacation, starring Jay Duplass and Linas Phillips.
Kathryn McDermitt - Kathryn spent over 25 years working in various capacities of feature films, spending 10 years as Vice President of Production for Columbia Pictures. She was responsible for overseeing the hugely successful movies Spiderman 1 and 2, Men In Black 1 and 2, Hitch, Something’s Gotta Give, Charlie’s Angels 1 & 2, as well as many others. Prior to her years at Columbia, Kathryn’s credits include My Life, First Knight, Striking Distance and Last of the Mohicans working with such stars as Nicole Kidman, Sean Connery, Richard Gere, Bruce Willis and Daniel Day Lewis. Kathryn currently teaches Production Management and Film Producing at The Motion Picture Institute in Troy, Michigan
“Assembling a gifted panel of judges from diverse professional backgrounds in film is a main priority of the Blue Water Film Festival.” BWFF Judge Concierge, Ryan Charron continues, saying “We are thrilled to provide the filmmakers with a unique opportunity to have their work viewed and evaluated by such accomplished individuals from within the film industry. The fact that all of our judges hail from the Michigan makes it extra special for both the filmmakers and our festival attendees”.
This year, comedian and Michigan native, J. Chris Newberg (The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel and America’s Got Talent) will join with 3 other comedians on one stage for an evening of great comedy.
The 20 Michigan and Canadian-made Official Selections of the BWFF will be showcased at McMorran Place Theatre on Saturday, September 28, 2013.
