This doesn't make sense to you as you are the one that is still finding it difficult to come to terms with the end of your relationship. You don't go out, you cry at the drop of a hat and the last thing that you want is to go out and socialise. Why does your ex boyfriend want to go clubbing or out again like nothing ever happened then?

To get to the truth of the matter you will need to start looking at things from his perspective. He isn't necessarily as happy and relieved at the demise of your relationship as it outwardly appears. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you are questioning 'why do men move on so fast?.'

He Could Be Pretending To Ignore His Heart Break

You have heard it all the time. Men have huge egos and they do not want to appear weak and vulnerable in front of their friends and you, their ex. The last thing that he will want is to give off the vibe that he is depressed or that they break up is affecting him, especially if you were the one that ended your relationship. He could be pretending that everything is ok because he is worried about showing how he really feels. This would leave him open to even more hurt, he has to be careful here.

If your ex boyfriend is trying hard to show you how happy he is or behaving uncharacteristically elated, it is to prove a point. Maybe he wants to show you that he doesn't really need you, even if he knows that he does. There will be a lot of pretence after a break up, you probably have been guilty of this too. Pretending that you are ok in front of him because you don't want to look pathetic etc. It is the same with him. Going out and acting carefree is perhaps what he thinks will help him move on faster.

He Could Be Trying To Get Back At You

If your ex boyfriend is hurting after the break up he will naturally try to get back at you. This is even more common if you were the one that broke up with him. He knows that the only way to get back at you is to make you hurt as much as you made him hurt. By pretending that his new single life is amazing or that he is glad that you two are finished he is trying to send you very clear signals that he has moved on.

This couldn't be farther from the truth though. If he has to make a concerted effort to make himself appear ok with the break up, he is obviously hiding how he really feels. Think about it. If you didn't affect him anymore he would not feel the need to have to put on a show, he would just let takes take their natural course.

Things Are Not Always As They Appear

It is easy to get carried away and think that your ex boyfriend has moved on quickly because you are only seeing the public persona. We all have a private and public persona and he is no different. You don't get to see him at home anymore or witness those quiet moments when he is wrapped up in his own thoughts. You can't read his mind either, but wouldn't it be wonderful if you could? It would certainly save all of this worrying and angst over his behaviour.

Behind closed doors he could be a very different character. He could be lonely and thinking about you constantly, trying to work out where to go from here. With close friends he may admit how he is really feeling and let his guard down, but the last thing that he will do is reveal his true emotions in public or in front of you. This is because society dictates that men act in a certain way. They are not allowed to show emotion as it is perceived as a sign of weakness. They have to be strong and pretend that everything is fine when it really isn't. In truth, your ex boyfriend may not have moved on at all.

There Are Fickle Men Too

Maybe your ex boyfriend does not fit into any of the situations above. Maybe you believe that he is genuinely over you and completely disinterested in your life. These men are fickle and will move on quicker than you can blink. Some men are just programmed this way. It is difficult for them to form emotional attachments and they find it easy to replace an old girlfriend with a new one relatively quickly.

This can be hard to stomach and can leave you questioning the basis of your relationship. These kinds of men are to be avoided at all costs. You should not try to get back together with them or let them make you feel worthless. In truth, they are the ones that are miserable and hollow because they will never really know what it is like to love.
