European Utility Week 2013: Siemens solutions ensure a grid ready for the future

AMSTERDAM - Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- The growing importance amongst the various stakeholders in the utility industry of collaboration, interoperability, shared targets and joint ambitions will be in focus at the upcoming, annual European Utility Week in the Amsterdam RAI from 15-17 October. Around 8,000 smart energy professionals will join the conference and expo where they will receive valuable information on all aspects of the utility business, from transmission to the consumer, including smart T&D infrastructures, renewable integration & storage, smart metering, ICT/ Data management, smart homes & end-user engagement.

To underpin the company’s innovative prowess in this arena, Siemens’ Smart Grid Division will launch a series of software solutions during European Utility Week. “At the same time, we strongly believe that only an end-to-end-portfolio covering all levels of a smart grid will provide the answers our customers need to run their businesses more efficiently towards increased reliability, future growth and business success,” Dr Mrosik says. Therefore, in addition Siemens Smart Grid will unveil innovative new hardware which provides data to this software.

Siemens Smart Grid’s unique vision of intelligently automated infrastructure will be demonstrated through a variety of exhibits at the company’s Booth 1.A09, through the keynote presentation given by Siemens Smart Grid CEO Dr Jan Mrosik during the opening session, as well as presentations given by various Siemens experts in the conference programme and technology plaza. The exhibits at the booth range from grid planning solutions to network control and energy automation systems for distribution networks to smart buildings in smart grids.

During European Utility Week, Siemens will also chair the ICT and IT/OT Integration & Strategy Session on Wednesday 16 October (14.00-17.00). It will be moderated by Dr Volker Distelrath, Siemens Smart Grid, Technology & Innovation. This session will outline implementation examples and strategies for IT/OT integration and usage of big data analytics as well as discuss opportunities how to incorporate potential privacy regulatory requirements by design.

European Utility Week will feature an international exhibition with more than 350 solution providers, 200 industry expert speakers with some 8000 conference delegates and expo visitors, including representatives from more than 300 leading utilities.
