The ASBI Announces the 11th International Shea Butter Convention

ATLANTA - Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- August 27, 2013-– (Atlanta, Georgia) - The American Shea Butter Institute announces their11th Annual

International Shea Butter Convention (ISBC) to be held at the Westin Hotel Atlanta Airport located in Atlanta, Georgia from October 24th - 26th, 2013.

This three day-long event is the largest annual conference and exposition of its kind in the country, solely dedicated to research, education, training and business opportunities in the emerging billion dollar global Shea Butter market.

Attendees will receive valuable information on the history, uses, benefits and future prospects in shea butter including but not limited to personal care, bath and body, healthcare, and nutraceuticals.  The ISBC will provide excellent networking opportunities and informative workshops.  Participants will be able to network directly with scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, buyers, sellers, manufacturers, processors and other leaders of the Shea butter Industry.

The workshops are presented by industry experts, and include professional education on topics of shea production, post extraction management, grade and quality Management, custom product formulation, business development and marketing, as well as panel discussions on African shea business opportunities.  New research and developments in the science of shea butter will be discussed alongside new and upcoming African Commodities; for the first time Neem Oil as a sister commodity for the Shea Belt in Africa will also be covered.  The Convention will also include the 2013 ISBC Shea Product Competition and Awards, exhibitors offering a variety of shea products, and entertainment.

In accordance with the theme of the event, “Creating International Business and Educational Opportunities for Grassroots Women in the Sub Sahara African Shea Belt,” attendees will also be able to see authentic artisanal made Shea Butter prepared in front of all to see, traditionally a process that exclusively occurs in Africa, but will be demonstrated at the 2013 ISBC.
