NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- (CHICAGO) -- The Chicago State Unviersity Foundation (CSUF) will hosttheir 19th Annual Fundraisingevent “An Evening with Smokey Robinson” on Thursday, September 19 on the CSU campus.   The Scholarship Fundraising Concert, emceed by Windy City Live’s Val Warner, will take place at the Jones Convocation Center (JCC) beginning at 8 p.m. (Doors open at 7:00). Funds raised at this event will support CSU students pursuing their educational goals.

The CSU Foundation is pleased to host this first time scholarship fundraising concert featuring Robinson, who was once pronounced by Bob Dylan to be America’s “greatest living poet”. Smokey Robinson's career spans over four decades of hits. His numerous awards include the Grammy Living Legend Award, NARAS Lifetime Achievement Award, Honorary Doctorate (Howard University), Kennedy Center Honors and the National Medal of Arts Award from the President of the United States. He has also been inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.
