U.S. Chamber and RecruitMilitary Veteran Job Fair Scheduled for Baltimore on October 3

BALTIMORE - Sept. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Cincinnati, OH – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the military-to-civilian recruitment firm RecruitMilitary will produce a job fair for veterans and other men and women with military backgrounds at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens, on Thursday, October 3, 2013. The event will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lockheed Martin and Ryder System Inc., members of the Chamber’s Veterans Employment Advisory Council (VEAC), will sponsor the job fair. RecruitMilitary is inviting veterans who already have civilian work experience, personnel who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members.

This event, a Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expo, will be part of a nationwide initiative to increase the hiring of veterans and military spouses by producing special career fair hiring events. The U.S. Chamber launched the Hiring Our Heroes initiative in March 2011.

RecruitMilitary and the Chamber expect more than 50 employers, franchisors, educational institutions, and government agencies to reserve exhibitor booths at the Expo. Already signed up are Lockheed Martin, Ryder System Inc., Amtrak, General Dynamics C4 Systems, CSX Transportation Inc., Exelon Corporation, DeVry University, State Farm, Norfolk Southern Corporation, Hallaton Inc., Argosy University, Ambit Energy, McDonald’s Corporation, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, State of Maryland Department of Budget and Management, Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue, FedEx Ground, Mastec Network Solutions, Verizon Communications, Johns Hopkins Health System, Lieberman and Mark, Watkins Meegan LLC, West Coast Training, American Income Life Insurance Company, Chesterfield County Police Department, Prudential, First Command Financial Planning, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, The Art Institutes, Trident University International, Venture One LLC, University of Phoenix, AutoNation, Strayer University, and Heavy Construction Academy.
