Today Chef Charles is a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association and is about to embark on a RV Screening Tour visiting cities throughout the U.S. to draw awareness to the need for people to take embrace their diabetes diagnosis as a treatable and reversible health disorder.

Chef Charles Mattocks is the author of the book, "Diabetes and Healthy Eating"and "Eat Cheap, But Eat Well," He is a filmmaker and produced a documentary titled, The Diabeteic You.. He traveled to India to research why people in India have such high levels of diabetes and provide solutions to help people overcome  it.

Chef Mattocks is participating in the Authors Pavilion from September 19-21, as part of the Congressional Black Caucus, 43rd Annual Conference in Washington, DC. He will perform meet and greets and conduct book signings on September 20, 4:00-6:00pm.
