Toyota Prius c Cracks Top-10 List of Best Back-to-School Cars

The four-door hybrid is capable of delivering up to 53 mpg in the city and 46 mpg on the highway, well above any other car in KBB.com's top 10. Another feature that makes the Prius c appealing to college-age students is its wide range of available technology. Inside, the new Prius c has available Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, allowing drivers to listen to personal playlists and make calls hands-free, as well as Toyota's Entune App Suite.

The new Prius c has been a hot seller so far in 2013, helping the Toyota Prius family achieve a 40 percent year-over-year increase in July. For its part, Prius c sales grew 19 percent year-over-year from July 2012 to July 2013. Between January and the end of July, Toyota sold 24,372 new Prius c models, a 26 percent year-over-year jump from the same time period a year ago.
