Its not enough, says EIE Board Member

EIE Board Member, Dr Imafidon, states how we can future proof prosperity through Excellence in Education

Sept. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- London, UK:- The Education Secretary, the Rt Hon Michael Gove, announced his new policy allowing students, who 'failed' Mathematics and English at 16, to continue until the age of 18.

Dr Chris Imafidon, Honorary Board Member and Director of Research at Excellence in Education (EIE) Programme, (http://www.ExcellenceinEducation.org.uk) welcomes the Government's new policy which indicates that everyone has the potential to successfully achieve in school, but bitterly regrets the methodology.

According to Dr Imafidon, "We would like to salute the government for their realisation that everyone can achieve in school. The principle of re-taking GCSEs in the core subjects of Mathematics and English is great and must be encouraged but the proposed method and mechanism is destructive and counterproductive or quite simply - insane."

"Why is the government allowing schools and colleges to use the same traditional teaching methodology? This is what led to this tragedy in the first instance; with over 285,000 students unable to achieve pass GCSE English and Maths, at age 16. We know that it will yield EXACTLY the same result. What the government is advocating is the classic definition of insanity, that is repeating the same thing but expecting different results."
