"It's more laughing at me, not with me. But that's OK. They're laughing, so I'm doing my job," explains the comedian.
After thousands of side-splitting shows on the comedy stage, John now allows somebody else to be the star of the show: the audience members, as they get hypnotized.
"I've always been fascinated with hypnosis," John says. "It's an amazing demonstration of the power of the mind - and it's a lot of fun! So, I trained and taken what I know about being funny to a whole new level."
That combination of humor and hypnosis will show up on stage this week, as tens of thousands of people descend on Salt Lake City for the first ever Comic Con. As part of the three day event, John will be performing his hypnosis show.
After a comedic explanation of hypnosis, how it works, and tossing out the misconceptions, the show really begins. Volunteers step on stage to be put into a hypnotic, feel good state of mind. Crazy and comedic skits keep going non-stop while the participants are treated with care and respect. It’s a demonstration of the unlimited power of the human mind that delivers a fun and positive message.
"They've already sold over 25,000 tickets for Comic Con," John says. "We're going to have a very good turnout for my show, which they are appropriately calling, 'Jedi Mind Tricks.'"
John Moyer's 'Jedi Mind Tricks' Show is Friday, September 6 at 6:00PM on stage 2 of the main ballroom at The Salt Palace as part of Comic Con 2013.
