Imdaad underscores relevance of Expo 2020 bid to Dubai’s infrastructural growth

Dubai remains strong contender among four remaining Candidate Cities

Sept. 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Dubai, UAE – September 1, 2013 – Imdaad, a leading provider of integrated facilities management solutions in the GCC, is lending its full support for Dubai’s bid to host Expo 2020 given the event’s potential to further accelerate Dubai’s infrastructural development.

The World Expos are held every five years to showcase innovative products and services and highlight issues of international importance. Each expo is a catalyst for economic, cultural and social transformation, which is why Imdaad is advocating strong multi-sectoral logistical and moral support for Dubai’s hosting of the 2020 edition.

Recently the Candidate Cities for Expo 2020 were narrowed down to four, with Dubai emerging as a top contender.  Securing the hosting slot would spur significant preparatory infrastructural works across Dubai, thus boding well for segments such as facilities management. It would also enhance Dubai’s image as an eco-friendly city with world-class facilities management systems.

“Earning the privilege of hosting Expo 2020 would energize Dubai’s various sectors, especially those that are development-oriented such as facilities management. For its part, Imdaad has always been driven by its responsibility to support socio-economic development in Dubai and across the UAE. Expo 2020 would be an ideal platform for us to support local and national growth while showcasing the scope, quality and potential of the UAE’s FM industry,” said Jamal Lootah, CEO, Imdaad.

The World Expos leave important legacies for the host city and nation. The Shanghai 2010 World Expo, for example, transformed a heavily industrial city-centre area into a thriving cultural and commercial district. The next World Expo takes place in Milan, Italy, in 2015 under the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”; Expo 2020 will run from January 4 to June 30, 2020. The UAE has allotted an AED 1.25 billion aid package and cooperation fund to help build partnerships as part of Dubai’s Expo 2020 bid. The Bureau of International Expositions will announce the winning host of the 2020 World Expo in November this year.

Imdaad has gained a strong reputation in the region as an adopter and implementer of the latest FM technologies and practices. The company acquires eco-friendly equipment and prioritizes sustainability across all its operations. It also conducts recycling training for its clients, corporate partners and staff, in addition to providing free recycling bins in certain projects where it handles waste management and collection service.
