Directed all law enforcement functions and related police activities of a department consisting of 64 enlisted and civilian personnel with jurisdiction for all enforcement operations within the city, which consists of 12,000 residents in a radius of 2 ¾ square miles.

Directed all law enforcement functions and related police activities of a department consisting of 59 enlisted and civilian personnel with jurisdiction for all enforcement operations within the city.

Accomplishments:
Successfully supervised and stabilized a police agency, which had significant management and operational deficiencies, as well as labor unrest.

Substantially reduced overall crime in the City to its lowest in 9 years due to the
implementation of proactive procedures for street level narcotics arrests, as well as traffic enforcement. The Department arrested and convicted over 100 different drug dealers in 9 investigations over a two year period. Additionally, violent crimes were reduced by 26% in 2005 to the City’s lowest in 10 years.

Assistant City Manager - 2002-2003
Directed and supervised the daily operations through the direction of the City Manager. Responsibilities included oversight of a $13 million operating budget and 165 employees.

Director of Public Works - 1997-2002
Responsible for budgeting, staffing, planning and managing multiple divisions consisting of sanitation, parking, motor pool, street construction and repair, storm-water, facilities management and construction. Prepared written bid specifications for all contracts. Managed all construction contracts and coordinated consultants. I was also responsible for the management of the Code Enforcement Division. Responsibility included managing a $3.1 million operating budget with a staff of 48 employees.
