PRLog -- The NewGate School welcomes international students this year from: Brazil, Czech Republic and Mexico. Year after year NewGate an International Montessori Academy draws families from all around the world to Sarasota, Florida. In recent years the school has welcomed numerous students and their families, some temporary residents and others who have made Sarasota their home from countries across the world including: Austria, Kenya, Italy, Japan, India, Venezuela, Spain, Peru, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Hungary, Turkey, Philippines, Thailand, United Kingdom and South Africa. It is not surprising that international students at NewGate account for about 25% of the student population. “The international attraction of NewGate School is a direct result of The Montessori Foundation’s global reach,” states Lorna McGrath the Associate Head of the NewGate School. The Montessori Foundation, an international organization, assumed administrative leadership of the NewGate School in 2010. The NewGate School serves as the lab school for the Montessori Foundation. Since their appointment NewGate School has adopted several international practices including a two week student exchange program with a Montessori school in Mexico, receiving 8 to 12 students and their chaperones annually.
