Cursing Stone is Ready to Take on the Competition at Emegenza

MELBOURNE, Australia - Aug. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Emergenza is the world's largest festival for unsigned bands, with concerts in more than 150 cities around the world. The festival features up and coming bands in all music genres from all across the globe.

Emergenza is held in elimination rounds in different countries throughout the year. The first rounds are decided by the votes of the attending audience. The votes are open and the audience can vote as many times as they want for as many bands as they choose. A panel of professional judges choose the winners for regional and final concerts.

Emergenza was created in 1991 by a group of musician friends. The first festival was held in 1992 in front of 245 fans, but five months later the attendance numbers were in the thousands. Emergenza has aided bands in showcasing their talents at top venues.

Cursing Stone brings forth powerful songs inspired by the dark side of life. Their lyrics cover subjects from ghosts, nightmares and the dark duality of the human soul. This band stares unflinchingly into the face of the darkness that is within us all.

Cursing Stone harnesses a broad cross-section of ‘rock’ styles, the band defies classification or alignment to any genre or sub genre. This is due in part to a multitude of influences ranging from Rock, Metal, Jazz, Pop to Classical and Opera.

The band describes their music as “eclectic musical palette to illustrate the deep motifs found in the lyrics, and is not afraid to explore different avenues, composing songs with soaring cinematic textures or dry punk-style aggression. A hauntingly beautiful female vocal blended with an explosive rhythm section all make this a highly unique outfit."

Cursing Stone is made up of lead vocalist Natalie Whitton, guitarist and back up vocalist Corey Wyer, drummer Dave Thomas and bassist Pablo Steiner.
