First developed in 1999 as a partnership between the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Southface, programs made possible through sponsors include EarthCraft House, EarthCraft Communities, EarthCraft Light Commercial, EarthCraft Multifamily and EarthCraft Renovation.

These programs help to ensure that building and communities meet strict criteria for saving energy and water, have high indoor air quality and protect land and natural resources.
