Follow on Google News | Game Industry Explosive Expansion Showcased at SIEGE October 3-6 in AtlantaSouthern Interactive Entertainment and Game EXPO Highlights CDC Games for Health Competition, Investment Conference and College Fair
By: Georgia Game Developers Association “The tremendous growth in the game industry is being fueled by many factors,” said Andrew Greenberg, President of the Georgia Game Developers Association. “People embrace gaming as a creative entertainment outlet and as way to connect with friends and family across computers, smartphones, tablets and game consoles, while corporations use game technologies to connect in compelling new ways with customers and employees,” he said. “The development of games focused on health and wellness is also a growing area and one of this year’s highlights is a Games For Health competition.” SIEGE Games for Health The CDC Games for Health Game Jam scheduled for September 20-22 at Southern Polytechnic State University brings game developers, producers, artists together with health professionals to plan and produce video games to address large-scale wellness issues such as disease prevention, outbreak investigation and healthy lifestyles over the course of the weekend. The resulting game prototypes will be judged at SIEGE on October 4, with the winning game being funded through completion. SIEGE College Fair High school and college students will have the opportunity to hear game industry leaders speak about career opportunities and insider insights as well as meet with many colleges offering programs in all aspects of video game design and production. SIEGE Investment Conference For game developers looking for funding, SIEGE presents an Investment Conference track October 4 with game industry investors sharing insights.
