Montana's Energy Resources Webinar series begins Sept. 3

A Webinar series from Montana State University covers energy policy and information about wind, solar, geothermal, oil, gas, coal, biodiesel and more.

BOZEMAN, Mont. - Aug. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Montana State University's Department of Earth Sciences and MSU Extended University are offering a Webinar series called Montana Energy Resources: Past, Present and Future. The course covers the history of oil and gas production in Montana; various energy sources such as solar, coal, biodiesel, wind and geothermal; current MSU research including carbon sequestration; and energy policy issues.

The course begins Sept. 3 and features 10 interactive presentations by speakers from MSU and other organizations. Presentations take place online each Tuesday evening from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from Sept. 3 to Nov. 5. Students can access from any personal computer with broadband Internet access. Participants will be able to type questions to instructors during the sessions; each presentation will also be archived for future access.

The price is $99 per person or $150 per site license, and there are no prerequisites. The course is appropriate for anyone interested in Montana energy issues, such as industry representatives, county commissioners, city government officials, community leaders, teachers and employees of state and federal agencies, as well as citizens who are interested in the topic. Professionals can earn CEUs, and Montana teachers can earn Office of Public Instruction renewal units for participating in the course.
