COLUMBIA, Mo. - Aug. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- MCRM Fertility To Host FREE PCOS Webinar in Support of PCOS Awareness Month

(Columbia, Missouri) Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS impacts an estimated 5% to 10% off all females and often becomes the source that leads many women down the path to advanced fertility treatment at the Missouri Center for Reproductive Medicine (MCRM). To aid in providing awareness and education on this specific disorder, MCRM will be celebrating PCOS Awareness month. Throughout the month of September, MCRM will take steps to shed more light on PCOS by providing:

·         An Understanding of What PCOS Really Is

·         How It Can Impact One's Fertility

·         Why It Is Often Over Diagnosed

·         The Mislabeling of PCOS

·         Dispel Myths Related to PCOS

In addition, on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 7:30 pm (CT), MCRM's medical director, Peter Ahlering, will host a FREE webinar specifically dedicated to the topic of PCOS.

"Polycystic Ovaries (PCO) is not the same as  Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is an overused diagnosis and is not as evil a problem as people think. In fact, in some ways, it is a net positive for the patient with respect to reproduction. However, this is often misunderstood and is why it is important for MCRM to help provide a better understanding on PCO and PCOS," explains medical director, Dr. Peter Ahlering.

Those who have been diagnosed with or believe they may be impacted by PCOS are encouraged to join the FREE webinar. Registration is required and may be completed via the MCRM website (www.mcrmfertility.com).
