Blue Flag Beach Blackpool Sands To Play Host To The Largest Team Fitness Event In Europe

PLYMOUTH, U.K. - Aug. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- The end of summer will see teams of the fittest men and women from across Europe battle it out for physical supremacy at this year’s Tribal Clash event, held at Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth from the evening of Friday 30th August to Sunday 1st September.

The Tribal Clash weekend will feature a total of five gruelling, high-intensity activities designed to test each area of fitness, from strength to speed and stamina to accuracy. The events will narrow the 100 teams down to just 20, and the remaining 20 teams will then go on to compete in the final event, the Clash of the Titans.

The award-winning Venus Café and Takeaway will provide catering throughout the weekend for Tribal Clash competitors. Based right on the beach and renowned for their use of local produce, The Venus Company will bring its love of good quality, delicious food to the event with a specially designed ‘Paleo’ menu – a high protein, unprocessed, natural product regime - providing key nutrients for athletes. Venus will be offering the normal menu alongside the Paleo special.

Michael Smith, owner of The Venus Company, expressed his excitement for the weekend: “Blackpool Sands is one of Devon’s most naturally beautiful beaches. For an event as big as The Tribal Clash to choose this venue is a true credit to the area and is the perfect environment to really push the competitors’ physicality.

“We’re all excited to see the teams battle it out over the weekend and we’re sure that it’s going to provide an amazing spectacle for both visitors and athletes’ supporting ‘tribes’. With the opening and closing ceremony, and entertainment in-between such as street running, sandcastle competitions, stand up paddleboarding and a Taiko drumming experience, the weekend is sure to attract a large crowd.”

The Venus Company have extended their opening hours over the weekend to ensure visitors can make the most of The Tribal Clash.  Visitors are urged to arrive early as car parking for non-competitors is limited at the beach.  There will be further parking and a non-stop shuttle bus service from Stoke Fleming Village Hall to Blackpool Sands.

The Tribal Clash weekend will run from the evening of Friday 30th August to Sunday 1st September. For further information on the event, visit www.thetribalclash.com. More information about The Venus Company, together with menus, can be found on their website, www.lovingthebeach.co.uk.
