Follow on Google News | ICT Africa Named Media Partner for FTTH Council Africa 2013ICT Africa is delighted to be media partner for the FTTH Council Africa 2013 conference to be held at Maropeng, Gauteng, South Africa.
By: ICT Africa While there are a large number of conferences addressing many aspects of ICT every year in Africa, only the FTTH Council Africa conference is dedicated to addressing fibre optic networks in Africa. To guarantee high quality of service for the rapidly evolving mobile networks in Africa, robust fibre optic backbone and backhaul networks are a requirement. Moreover, for Africa to take full advantage of ICT for the development of the continent, fibre based access networks such as Fibre to the Home (FTTH) should be developed alongside mobile access networks. It is for these reasons that ICT Africa supports FTTH Council Africa in their effort to bring together industry players in Africa to address challenges and opportunities in fibre optic networks throughout the African continent. FTTH Council Africa has lined up several keynote speakers to address the conference. These include Dr. Andile Ncgaba, Chairman of Dimension Data and President of FOA Africa; Arif Hussain, Chief Executive Officer of FibreCo Telecommunications; SKA Bid Manager and scientific, technical and strategic consultant to the SKA Project Director.
