People of Shambhala Launches Podcast

NEW YORK - Aug. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- People of Shambhala -- an online magazine of spirituality, religion, culture and news -- launched its first podcast program in August. The podcast, hosted by author Angel Millar and unofficially named “Radio Free Shambhala,” has already featured guests such as acclaimed Buddhist author P’arang Geri Larkin.

Previously, People of Shambhala had published interviews in text format. A regular podcast seemed like a natural extension. Having interviewed such notables as historian Andrei Znamenski and founder of World T’ai Chi Day Bill Douglas, People of Shambhala wanted to enable visitors to the site to hear the voices of important thinkers, historians and activists, and not just read their words on the screen.

“We want to inform people about spirituality and culture today,” says Millar, “but we also want to provide a platform for discussing thought-provoking ideas and insights into how we can live authentically in the modern world.” Programs have already featured discussions about esotericism and politics, creating a business with Buddhist values, and spiritual practice. “People of Shambhala,” says Millar, “ is about addressing the problems facing us as individuals and as societies, and it’s about exploring new ways to create a better future.”
