PRLog - Aug. 26, 2013 - Oldies rock and roll, and southern rock tribute, and Americana original music artists, Papa and Mama Root, (www.papaandmamaroot.com)  from Grand Island, NY, are finding themselves in some heady company these days.

The International Airplay Top 100 Americana charts of airplay spins from Record World Magazine (http://recordworldmagazine.com/International_Chart.html) lists Papa and Mama Root among familiar names such as Kenny Chestney, Tim McGraw, Sugarland, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, Toby Keith, Scotty McCreery, Mavis Staples, James Taylor, Carole King and a host of other stars.

Record World Magazine was founded in 1946 under the name Music Vendor. The name was changed in 1964 to Record World. For parts of five decades,Record World magazine was one of the three main music industry trade publications in the United States along with Billboard and Cash Box. The original Record World ceased publication in April 1982. Many music industry personalities, writers and critics had started their careers there in the early 1970s to 1980s.

In 2012, a book detailing the history of Record World (and it’s predecessor publication, Music Vendor) was released.

In early 2013 Cash Box's Bruce Elrod started a new chapter in Record World magazine's long legacy by re-launching the magazine with a mission to serve solely independent artists and labels.

The National Airplay Top 100 charts from Record World Magazine (http://www.recordworldmagazine.com/) are compiled and calculated by Digital Radio Tracker for the Exclusive Use of Record World Magazine Inc.

Digital Radio Tracker (http://www.digitalradiotracker.com) is a radio airplay broadcast monitoring service which tracks radio airplay of songs on more than 5000+ radio stations worldwide.
