LITCHFIELD, Conn. - Aug. 26, 2013 - PRLog --    In this collection, Diane Stoner has created a storybook of watercolors celebrating the landscapes from her favorite scenery in the United States and the Bahamas including street scenes, fields and meadows, and tropical beaches.  Her artful landscapes capture a story in transparent color that welcomes the viewer into scenes of beauty and comfort.  Diane’s mastery of this delicate medium and her ability to utilize a strong interplay between light and shadow is apparent in every brush stroke, as is her natural gift for artistic composition.

Litchfield resident, Diane Stoner was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.  She graduated from Stanford University in 1964 with a Bachelors of Arts in history and economics.  While at Stanford, she studied watercolor painting with David Mendelowitz, a noted California watercolorist.  Mendelowitz was best known for his landscapes, especially those of the Palo Alto-Stanford area.  Diane has shown and sold her work through the Princess Street Gallery in Harbor Island, Bahamas and through various websites.

In the gallery: September 4- October 25. Reception- Thursday, September 5, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Oliver Wolcott Library, 160 South Street, Litchfield, CT. 06759. 860-567-8030. www.owlibrary.org
