Actors Rockmond Dunbar and Lynn Whitfield Set to Star in Supremacy Films Drama

ATLANTA - Aug. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Supremacy Films, an Atlanta based film production company began filming “Curveball” July 12, 2013 in Atlanta, GA. “Curveball” stars Actor Rockmond Dunbar whose catalogue includes Soul Food, Prison Break, Sons of Anarchy and The Game. The movie also stars Emmy Award Winning Actress Lynn Whitfield.  Whitfield has starred in stage, television and film. Her credits include Eve’s Bayou, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, Cheetah Girls 1&2, The Josephine Baker Story in which she won an Emmy Award for the portrayal of the iconic Josephine Baker. The movie also co-stars The Hunger Games: Catching Fire  actor E. Roger Mitchell  and Charmin Lee  known for her role in the series Girlfriends.

“Curveball” is about how life can be a rollercoaster ride. One minute you are climbing a mountain and the next you are free falling. This free fall can change one’s life catastrophically and in the case of two all American boys too much freedom and too little supervision threaten the lives of their families, a budding romance, and future success.

“Curveball” is produced by Errol Sadler co-founder of Supremacy Films. In 2009, Errol made his producer debut with “Eros”, a short dramatic thriller which received a Comcast On-demand distribution deal. Sadler has partnered with Last Looks Inc. to produce four short films “Up In Smoke”, “No Crime”, “Letters to a Father”, and “Prognosis”. These films have been part of numerous film festivals such as the, Brooklyn Short Film Festival (BSFF), Long Island Film Festival (LIFF), Manhattan Film Festival (MIFF), Peachtree Village International Film Festival (PVIFF) Rome International Film Festival (RIFF), and the Women in Film and Television (WIFTA). Sadler recently joined forces with Symmetry Entertainment’s Dianne Ashford and C. Clear Cinema to produce “Echo at 11 Oak Drive”, a feature length film that tells three stories that transpire under the same roof over three eras of time – 1951, 1973, and 2010. This film was screened in Sundance 2013 and received great reviews. The short film of the same story line, “Echoes”, was accepted in the Cannes Film Festival 2013. It is currently pending a distribution deal.

The movie is directed by Supremacy Films co-founder Brandon “2Mill”Thaxton. He attended the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet at the award-winning Tri-Cities High School in East Point, Georgia. During his studies at Tri-Cities, not only did he participate in leading roles in various school productions, but he also started his print, television and movie careers. Thaxton was the co-host of Lisa Knight and the Round Table, a teen talk show broadcast over the Black Family Channel. He wrote and Co-hosted a few of the shows and as a result, this show received a NAMIC Award in 2004 in the category of Best Children’s Show. In 2004, this same award was shared with “That’s So Raven”. In 2005, he went on to hosting “Thousand Dollar Bee” on the Road, also produced by the Black Family Channel. Some of Thaxton’s recent music video projects include 2 Chainz, Dillon Sacks, and D Woods which are currently running on MTV2 and MTV Jams. Thaxton also directed “The 48 Hour Film Showdown”, which was broadcasted on Halogen TV and won best film.

“Curveball” is a moving tale written by Atlanta screenwriter Linton “Buddy” Barnett; it showcases how small town life cannot protect two youth on the verge of manhood from the excesses of lives being lived too fast.
