Yearwood said they would be collaborating on a joint album together that has been discussed and in the works for many years that will be followed up by a tour together. She told Jeff Glor from CBS:
"It’ll be a whole different ball game, you know, as man and wife to go do this together. So I’m looking forward to it."
Brooks told reporters last month backstage that new music was on the horizon:
“New music feels like it’s on the horizon, so it’s starting to bubble and it’s getting fun,”
Yearwood will also be tending to her own album that would include collaborations with Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. They have recently become good friends and Yearwood joined Clarkson on a project that she is working on.
Garth Brooks has said he would not tour again until his youngest daughter was out of high school which will be next spring. Brooks has talked about a huge comeback tour for many years but has never followed up with dates or any other rumors until now. Although no specific dates are set after Yearwoods interview it’s only a matter of time before the big announcement is made.
