Sterlite distributes free notebooks to school students

TUTICORIN, India - Aug. 26, 2013 - PRLog --  Tuticorin: Sterlite Copper distributed free notebooks to the school students belonging to the Government school of Therku Veerapandiapuram at Tuticorin. In a function organised by Sterlite Copper, Mr.Subbiah, Panchayat President, Therku Veerapandiapuram distributed free notebooks to over 100 students of Therku Veerapandiapuram in the presence of Mrs.A.Sumathi, Head – Asset Optimisation, Sterlite Copper.

Sterlite distributed the notebooks as the students did not have sufficient notebooks for carrying out the classroom work at home. Sterlite’s other initiatives to promote education include literacy project for girl children, presenting scholastic excellence awards and providing scholarships to encourage students from villages to pursue higher education.

Mr.R.Rajasekarapandy, Head – Corporate Social responsibility and employees of Sterlite were present during the distribution function.
