M•A•C Cosmetics announces second store opening at the Palms Shopping Center, Lagos, Nigeria.

LEKKI, Nigeria - Aug. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- M•A•C (Make-up Art Cosmetics), the professional makeup brand of choice, announces the opening of its second store in Lagos.  As with the brand’s first store, which opened to huge excitement in the Ikeja City Mall during February, this second store is also in partnership with the Essenza Company.  Both sides hotly anticipate the opening in The Palms Shopping Mall, Lagos – a commercial hub in the city and a dynamic shopping destination.  The store will open on the 1st of September, 2013.

This new M•A•C store provides consumers with another location to experience the brand at its fullest. With the help of talented, professionally trained makeup artists, the Nigerian woman will be able to find exactly what she needs to create the makeup look she requires and to discover the different collections that are launched globally on a monthly basis.  There is always something new to discover in the M•A•C store whether it be the new one at The Palms or the existing store at Ikeja. M•A•C is pleased that the Nigerian woman now has two authorized locations in which she can buy authentic M•A•C product in a store that is replicated across the world.


In keeping with M•A•C AIDS Fund’s (MAF) longstanding commitment to  fighting HIV/AIDS globally, MAF has announced  two grants totaling $350,000 to support programs in Nigeria. M•A•C AIDS Fund is the U.S. philanthropic arm of M•A•C Cosmetics and a pioneer in HIV/AIDS funding, providing financial support to organizations working with underserved regions and populations.  .  A grant was awarded to The Business Leadership Council for a Generation Born HIV Free to help accelerate the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) services in Nigeria. The MAF grant will support BLC's efforts to provide catalytic support to the Government of Nigeria to recruit, develop and retain key talent to scale PMTCT services.  A grant was also awarded to the Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative (YEDI) to promote HIV awareness and life skills among youth in Lagos through Skillz Naija, a soccer based in-school curriculum.  Support will enable YEDI to expand the Skillz Naija program and reach 12,000 young people this year.
