To fund this production of "The Man In The Red Suit", and a brand new play "The Cat & Squirrel Dialogues" the Playwright/Director Jonathan Emrys and the Producer, Wendilyn Emrys, of Emrys Entertainment are running a Kickstarter Campaign from August 20, 2013 through September 19, 2013. They are asking for support from the Theatre Going, and Arts Loving, Public to make this dream a reality. It is Christmas Eve, the worst Christmas Eve of Perry Roussel's life. He thinks things are bad now, but when a truly mysterious stranger shows up unexpectedly, Perry finds himself believing that his whole world is going to Hell in a hand basket... “The Man In The Red Suit” is a play about life, love, faith, sacrifice, and what really matters in the end. ************ A visit from a familiar stranger in a large red suit results in a heated metaphysical and spiritual debate which could cost the lives of one man’s family. Mixed with generous portions of dark humor, this play takes several twists and turns to reveal an unexpected ending, with the metamorphoses of both Perry (the angry husband and father) and the Man in the Red Suit (the uninvited interloper). How does mortality influence the minds of men and women? How does the loss of loved ones affect the way we see ourselves and our futures? How can we be so sure that it’s over? And why should we? The Man in the Red Suit is an exploration of self and the universe, a search for meaning, a search for life, death, and the afterlife . . . or the next life. CONTAINS STRONG LANGUAGE . . . and a Claus. ************ About the Author: Having acted on stage since the age of 12, and later in small roles in film and television, Jonathan Emrys eventually deviated from acting to screenwriting, and finally into a full-time professional career in Information Technology. Utilizing his former experiences as an actor, Jonathan continued to write screenplays while holding down a full-time job, and progressed to writing for stage and recently the first in a trilogy of Science Fiction novels. Though his bills are paid for by his IT career, Jonathan’s true bliss comes from writing fiction in any form, whether it be short stories, poems, stage plays, screenplays, novels, or the occasional email . . . and a block of wood.
