GroupTalent Acquires Work For Pie’s Community of Software Developers and Designers

SAN FRANCISCO - Aug. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- SAN FRANCISCO (August 22, 2013) – GroupTalent, <https://grouptalent.com/>, a hiring platform for technical talent, today announces that it will acquire approximately 4,500 of Work For Pie’s registered developers and designers. Work For Pie, a company that provided software developers with an easy way to publish and maintain a portfolio based on open source contributions and community involvement, is closing its doors due to financial restraints. The company analyzed a number of companies before deciding to recommend its customers to GroupTalent.

 

“We are excited to welcome Work For Pie customers to our growing community and have a plan in place to ensure this is a seamless transition” said Manny Medina, CEO of GroupTalent. “Our goal is to provide all our customers with recruiting tools that will result in happier long term employment. Our suite of services, including our unique contract-to-hire opportunities, intelligent spam filter and our intelligent search functionality, will be available to all previous Work For Pie customers.”

 

Effective today, all Work for Pie developers and designers will have the option of continuing with GroupTalent. All Work for Pie customers will receive an email asking them to migrate to the GroupTalent platform and will be sent to a special sign up page tailored to Work for Pie customers that will allow them to set up their profile.

 

All of GroupTalent’s suite of features will be available to Work For Pie customers, including a unique matching engine that matches talent with relevant short-term, long-term and contract-to-hire opportunities. GroupTalent encourages developers and designers to engage in multiple contract-to-hire opportunities before settling into a long-term position to ensure better hiring fits and happier long-term employment, and its software makes it easy to do.

 

Other GroupTalent features include:

●      An “e-Harmony-like” algorithm that uncovers strong matches between talent and employers.

●      An email spam filter that reduces recruiter spam by reviewing every unsolicited or irrelevant email for fit against each individual’s entire talent portfolio.

●      Intelligent search function for employers and job seekers to discover each other based on specific search criteria, which levels the recruiting playing field by giving all companies the same firepower regardless of the size of their recruiting budget.
