Ever consider a hybrid car, but unsure if it's worth the money? Or you'd rather wait until it's been around for a good decade so that you don't have to play guinea pig to the new experiment. Well I'm here to straighten out all the doubts..

DAVISON, Mich. - Aug. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Have you ever heard the term "Range Anxiety"? Sounds like something you wouldn't want to have--ever. Well with the Chevrolet Volt, you won't. Range anxiety is the fear of not knowing how long the battery will last in correlation to the distance you have left to travel; so basically the fear of running out of juice. Batteries can be unpredictable, and there aren't a whole lot of charging stations around--unlike the gas station on every corner. You may have your home and dealership as a place to charge your vehicle, but who has the time to wait a minimum of 4 hours for a good charge?

The Chevrolet Volt is not only an electric car, but also a gas-powered one. Now this doesn't mean it has a combustible engine like a normal car, it has a gas-powered generator to re-juice the battery. The Ford Focus Electric and the Nissan Leaf are purely electric, so unless you remember to charge up your vehicle daily, you'll be on the side of the road calling Triple A for help; hence the term "Range Anxiety".

Not only does the Volt come with a fail-safe way to run your vehicle, it also comes with many options to make sure you get the most battery life out of your charge. It comes with a green ball display that helps you accelerate and brake correctly to optimize your fuel efficiency. If you accelerate too fast, the ball rises out of the optimal zone, if you break too hard, the ball rises out of the zone, and so on. It's almost like a game to keep the ball dead center, and maximize your fuel efficiency. There's another way the Volt offers efficiency: Regenerative Braking, which captures energy normally lost during braking, and converts it into electricity that's then stored in the battery. That's genius as the Volt is mainly used for stop-and-go traffic.

There are a ton of other features in the Volt that I haven't mentioned, but these are the main points on why it's miles ahead of the competition. One point I saw on a certain website that compared the three vehicles had a Volt con as "Confusing Interior Controls". I'll admit, they are a little different, but they need to be to incorporate all of the features. The people, who feel that way, are the same people who don't like change. Give it a bit of time, and embrace the change..
