Chrysler Debuts New Ram Rumble Bee Concept Pickup at the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Aug. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- On August 17, 2013 at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Royal Oak, Michigan, Chrysler officially unveiled the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee concept. The vehicle was designed to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of the Ram pickup truck. However, it’s not yet known if Chrysler will produce the pickup truck and release it to dealerships like Bosak Motors Sales in Merrillville, Indiana.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is the world’s largest single day automotive event. Around 1.3 million people and over 40,000 vehicles were in attendance to cruise and have fun. Chrysler and other automakers made their presence known at the 19^th annual event.

The Rumble Bee concept car was based off the old Super Bee muscle cars from the 1960s. Chrysler started with a 2013 Ram 1500 R/T and covered the car in a “Drone Yellow” paint job. There’s also a finely detailed Speed Bee logo featuring a black line dissolving into a bee’s honeycomb.

On the inside of the car, the seats were leather sport mesh in black and the unique “Drone Yellow” coloring. Very unique to the car was an actual bee frozen in amber placed inside the top of the shifter knob. The knob also lit up to display a honeycomb pattern behind the bee. 

Underneath the hood of the truck was a 5.7L V8 Hemi engine capable of 395 hp and 407 lb-ft of torque, which was paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine itself featured a custom design with a bee-friendly black-and-yellow cover and honeycomb pattern laid out on top.

While there is not yet any known plans to produce the Rumble Bee, Ram has released many concept cars as limited edition production models like the Ram 1500 Black Express, the Laramie, and the Longhorn.
