The band is made up of some of Denver's best players. Their music is a combination of Southern Rock, New Orleans-style Soul, Alt. Country and Cajun, with Old School R&B Dance influences. The band is heating up across the Western US, with regular headlining dates at the region's premier theaters and festivals. They feature both original music and cover songs.
"Bill and I have been playing in Steamboat since the 1990's in many different versions of some great bands, and it's always one of our favorite places to come back to. We've had some wild nights here over the years and we appreciate that Steamboat has always been a town that loves live music," said guitar player and vocalist Ash Ganley.
This show will be free to the public and will begin at 9pm sharp. The Sweetwater Grill is located at 811 Yampa Street in Steamboat Springs.
When asked about what makes this new incarnation of the band special, Ganley said, "Bill has dome some big shows up here with Leftover Salmon and The Derek Trucks Band too, but The Bill McKay Band is really starting to take off and all the shows we have been playing over the past year or so have really helped us gel as band and communicate on stage. This band is so diverse in terms of terms of what types of influences each member brings to the table, from Bluegrass to Jazz to Funk and R&B to New Orleans music, there's just a sense of no limits on where we can go musically."

This is sure to be a remarkable show. As Ganely put it, "What you are going to get at this show is the full Americana ride through all the twists and turns of these great styles of music, played with a lot of heart, by a band that is hitting it's prime."
