Follow on Google News | India’s largest Employability Skills Test launched in association with CII, PeopleStrong & WheeboxIndia Skills Report to address job demand and available skills for potential hiring.
By: Wheebox, PeopleStrong & CII This will be for the first time that such report will be addressing potential skill gap that is scientific in nature and validated using reliable talent assessment tool across 244 domain areas. The outcome of the report will create standard reporting guidelines for corporate on potential skill gap involving all leading players of the Industry, supported by CII and active government participation. India Skills Report 2014 study will bring to light the job demand and potential hiring, through assessment on English Language, Aptitude and Domain Skills for Sectors such as Manufacturing, Retail, Infrastructure, ITES/IT, Health Care & BFSI. The study will be conducted amongst 150,000 final year students across 16 states using WEST Wheebox Employability Skills Test in ITIs, Polytechnic, Engineering, Business Schools, Degree Colleges, Universities and Vocational Schools. According To Nirmal Singh, Founder & CEO – Wheebox, “ It is for the first time in India that such a detailed study will be conducted with participation from Government, Industry, Sector Skill Councils, Associations and Academia on one platform.” Pankaj Bansal, Founder and CEO – PeopleStrong stated, “Today businesses are struggling to recruit the right people, with a lack of technical skills cited as the primary problem (64 percent). This will dampen business productivity, ultimately threatening future growth and profitability; Speaking on this occasion, Ms Supriya Banerji, Deputy Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry said, “This unique partnership will bring in a new dimension and understanding to the way India and the global world look at hiring skilled labour. The report will provide an insight into the hiring trends of the market while understanding the needs of the job seeker and organizations. This will enable the youth and industry to make informed decisions.” The association will work in tandem for 5 years commencing from 2013. The first India Skill Report 2014 will be released in November 2013 in New Delhi. End
