Cottonwood Art Festival (http://www.cottonwoodartfestival.com/), held twice a year and featuring works from the nation's top visual artists will be October 5-6, 2013. Located in scenic Cottonwood Park in Richardson, this prestigious art show has been a part of Richardson life for over 40 years. Admission is free. Cottonwood Art Festival is more than just the art. The festival also features top local bands performing the best in rock, country, jazz, blues, swing and folk. Check out the courtyard, sit in the shade by the lake, relax and enjoy the music. There are plenty activities for children. Food and spirits are also available in the courtyard.

Cottonwood Art Festival (http://www.cottonwoodartfestival.com/) is a juried show. Jurors will select over 240 artists to exhibit their museum-quality work at the festival. The artists compete in 14 categories: 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Digital, Drawings/Pastels, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metalwork, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Wood. All works are museum-quality. Whether shopping for art, listening to music, enjoying the outdoors, or making art of your own – Cottonwood has something for everyone, including mini-Picassos.
