Sit Down Entertainment announced today that they have recently launched their new website and personal blog of up-and-coming screenwriter Jennifer Hecht. The website not only gives readers and potential writers a glimpse into her comedic style, but it engages them as well. Anyone can submit their own comedic story in a short paragraph, and selected stories will then be reworked into a scene in script format.
“Everyone has a story. There are hilarious experiences that we all have had, and often think to ourselves ‘wouldn’t that be a great scene in a movie.’” said Jennifer. “It’s about engaging the audience and creating that emotional connection through laughter. If I can do that through a scene and carry that throughout a movie, it’s not a bad day in the office.”
When asked about the difference between Sit Down Entertainment and other screenwriters’
sites, Jennifer answered, “I wanted a unique way to get the audience involved. I created the life scenes page to give readers an opportunity to provide a glimpse of their sometimes ordinary and sometimes extraordinary life moments. Everybody has at least one great life scene whether you’re a screenwriter or not. Through the life scenes page, I take the comedic life moment and write it as a scene in a movie. It’s a great way to get feedback from a test audience.”
The Sit Down Entertainment website also features resources for screenwriters along with some of Jennifer’s favorite things. This is a refreshing twist to a traditional screenwriter’
s website, which also provides the added benefit for movie studios, production companies and even actors to get involved with some of her projects by reviewing her writing style.
