ODG Announces Webinar on Blended Learning as an Effective Education Option

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Aug. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Open Doors Group (ODG) announced today that it will co-sponsor with SoftChalk a webinar that offers insight into  how blended learning combines the best of classroom and online learning experiences. ODG and SoftChalk have invited Mark Gensimore, Vice Presidentof Business Development for the Blended Schools network, to explain the effectiveness of blended schools in this webinar. Mr. Gensimore will demonstrate how institutions are building virtual school programs using Open Educational Resource (OER) repositories and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). 

Blended Schools is a network of schools that has produced hundreds of online-interactive lessons and full courses, and thousands of videos accessible at no cost from the BSNcloud and BSNtube repositories. In addition to this,, Blended Schools provides a series of MOOCs to aid districts and teachers deliver blended and online learning and  help promote and build peer/support groups. 

While Blended Schools focuses on K-12 schools, the concepts presented in this webinar regarding OERs and MOOCs will also benefit educators working in higher education and life-long learning. 

Glenda Clark, ODG Senior Manager, thanked SoftChalk, a member of the ODG Collaborative, for bringing Blended Schools to the attention of educators. Ms. Clark said, "Organizations like SoftChalk and Blended Schools ensure that education benefits from technology rather than being ruled by it.
