LOS ANGELES - Aug. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- iPhoneArt.com (IPA) is proud to announce an international open call for photographic art for The IPA Quarterly.  The inaugural issue, launched in partnership with ProCamera, will showcase selected images online and at IPA’s hometown gallery, the Santa Monica Art Studios (SMAS).

Deadline for entries is August 31, 2013.

Independent judge for the first IPA Quarterly is the versatile and creative filmmaker Mark Pellington. Pellington’s ground-breaking work spans virtually every aspect of film-- feature films, television, documentaries and music videos.  The event marks Pellington's debut as judge for a gallery exhibition of photography.

"The art and creativity in evidence with this exhibit is overwhelmingly Inspirational. It is redefining personal art within a new context of technology. I am intensely drawn to this new way of seeing, and the merger of forms is exciting," Pellington says.

Selected works from the juried exhibition will be on display October 1-31 at SMAS. SMAS was the venue for the LA Mobile Arts Festival in 2012.

“It doesn’t matter whether a person is an amateur or a professional. It doesn’t matter where on the planet he or she lives. What matters is the quality and creativity of the photography,” says IPA co-founder Nathaniel Park. “The goal of the IPA Quarterly is to showcase regularly the works of leading contemporary photographers from this growing global community.”

All photographic processes and subjects, shot on any type of camera, color or black and white will be considered.

iPhoneArt.com (IPA) is an artist community and fine art print shop focused on mobile digital art creation and exhibition.  We showcase and exhibit contemporary art and photography through our website, mobile apps, and select brick-and-mortar galleries.  In 2012, iPhoneArt.com produced the LA Mobile Arts Festival, the largest exhibition of mobile art and mobile photography to date.
