Shamrock Financial Partners with ALS RI Chapter Golf Tournament to Raise $58,000 for ALS Patients

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Aug. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Rumford, RI – Shamrock Financial served as the title sponsor of the 18^th Annual ALS Association RI Chapter Golf Tournament at Quidnesset Country Club. Partnering with the local ALS RI Chapter, the event was able to raise over $58,000 for local ALS Patient Care. Volunteers from Shamrock and ALS RI Chapter helped to make this year’s tournament the highest grossing fundraiser in years. ALS RI Chapter President Nancy Feroldi indicated that with Shamrock’s assistance, the tournament was able to raise over 65% more than the previous year.


The tournament took place on August 5. Some features of the event included a Texas Scramble Golf Tournament, Vegas Hole, Putt for Cash, Win a Car provided by Bald Hill Dodge, plus a silent auction, live auction with special guest auctioneer Frank Carpano, Sports Director at WJAR TV, and a raffle with numerous donations from local businesses. Special Guest Rico Petrocelli, a former Boston Red Sox baseball player who was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 1997, was also there to speak and raffle off some valuable memorabilia.

Shamrock’s own Rod Correia and Dean Harrington served as the 2013 Committee Chairs of the event, along with co-chairs Shalimar Albanese and Trish Harrington. Over 25 volunteers from the Shamrock Staff helped out the volunteers from the ALS RI Chapter to make the day a success.
