By: African Global Super Center Elizabeth Sichinga, CEO of AGSC shared, “We have had an overwhelming positive response from all of Africa. Embassies, Bank Governors of Africa, and dignitaries will be in attendance. The response has been outstanding for what will be a historical event.” Elizabeth also shared, “With the help of acts like The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) which was signed into law by President Clinton in 2000, we have fashioned the Conference to breakdown the barriers of trade and begin the matchmaking and networking opportunities needed for trade.” The objective of AGOA is to expand U.S. trade and investment with Africa with a focus to stimulate economic growth, to encourage economic integration, and to facilitate Africa's integration into the global economy. Businesses coming from Africa will bring products from all sectors, such as agribusiness, textile, crafts, fine jewelry, home décor, to name just a few. U.S buyers can come and shop around, participate in matchmaking events, and begin the process of partnering with businesses from Africa and Africa Disapora. With Africa primed for growth and looked at as the Last Frontier, United States businesses who are ready to do business will have the opportunity to talk to decision makers. The Conference isn’t all about business. Sylvia Robertson, COO of AGSC shares, “We have a very special evening planned to recognize special people who have made an impact on people’s lives. The Gala Event entitled, “From Political Independence to Economic Emancipation” The last day of the Conference will end with a cultural experience on the streets of Penn Avenue in West Reading. Those attending who would like to showcase their wares in a street festival sort of event can do so. Shoppers will enjoy music, performing arts, food, and family activities with the Cultural Festival. “We are highly encouraging businesses in the United States and Africa to send buyers and sellers to come together and promote their industry, while establishing trade for the future,” shared CEO Sichinga.
