Lakeshore Denver to Lend Hands at Hobie Day Event!

DENVER - Aug. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- As part of our Core Values, Lakeshore is passionate about supporting organizations that make a difference in the community. We are, once again, honored to support Craig Hospital and their annual Hobie Day event! For the 34rd year, Craig Hospital will be hosting Hobie Day at Cherry Creek Lake on Friday, August 16, 2013.

Craig Hospital—located in Englewood, Colorado and world-renowned for the treatment and research of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries--will release an army of staff and volunteers to provide patients a fun and memorable day of boating and outdoor activities. Their mission is ‘To advocate for and provide exemplary rehabilitation care to people affected by spinal cord and traumatic brain injury so that they can achieve optimal health, independence, and life quality.’

Denver’s Hobie Cat Fleet 61 will once again donate their time and boats to give patients an opportunity to sail the waters in a catamaran-hulled Hobie Cat, a pontoon boat, or even a motor boat! Craig’s patient and life-centered therapy focuses on getting patients back out into the world, and Hobie Day is a perfect example of this.

Because Lakeshore resonates with Craig Hospital’s mission in that two of our Core Values are to ‘to take care of yourself and your community,’ and ‘care about people and problems as your own,’ we will provide volunteers on land as well as several “spotters” who will be assisting patients to get onboard the various boats. “Being able to volunteer in the community as a Team really brings us together,” says Lakeshore HR and Payroll Associate, Kaitlin Still, “and Hobie Day is a great example of this. We are deliberately living out our Core Values.”
