Texas Martial Arts Instructor Hosts Free Back to School Bully Prevention Seminar

WEATHERFORD, Texas - Aug. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Weatherford, Texas - Every seven minutes a child is bullied. This is beyond unacceptable. Dondi Morgan will be providing a free back to school bully prevention seminar to families in the Weatherford area. Dondi believes no child should have to face this hardship unprepared. The free seminar will be on Saturday, August 31st at 10:00am at the Harberger Hill Community Center in Weatherford, Texas. Space is limited so pre-registration is encouraged.

Bullying has become so common that some studies show 7 out of 10 children will face this harassment at school. Thirteen million students are bullied everyday.  Regardless of whether it is mental, physical or emotional, bullying has both short- and long-term effects on children, including depression, low self-confidence and an unwillingness to attend and participate in school.  

The seminar will focus on teaching children effective skills to counter bullying. Children will be taught to avoid confrontation as the best course. They will be shown how one can often negate a bully by refusing to engage and simply walking away. If cornered, they will be trained to show courage. Bullies attack what they perceive as vulnerable targets. If you become a challenge they will be less likely to target you in the future. Finally, children will be shown how to physically defend themselves if absolutely necessary.

Dondi is an anti-bully community advocate and an American Karate 3rd Degree Black Belt and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt.  Dondi believes that self-confidence, character building and a positive atmosphere will give children.
