East County Urgent Care has been serving the communities of East County since 1982.  Conveniently located in El Cajon, California, they strive to provide quality medical care in a friendly, professional, and quick manner.  They pride themselves in providing a personal experience with their patients, while minimizing wait times.  Dr. Wolfe, the original owner, has taken personal pride in being a small business owner in the community for over 30 years. A reflection of this is that most of his employees and patients have been with him for over 20 years.  Some patients have been with East County Urgent Care since their opening in 1982 and are now bringing their children, and in some cases, their grandchildren to them!

East County Urgent Care is open: Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm and on Saturday – Sunday from 9am to 3pm.  They offer a wide variety of services, including the treatment of acute illness and/or injury, minor surgical procedures, physical exams, drug testing, on-site digital x-rays, and limited laboratory tests.  They accept most commercial and worker’s compensation insurance plans. 

Employers will find they can perform screening services such as; physicals, drug screens, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function tests, audio testing, and back exams. The physicians at East County Urgent Care are currently NRCME certified under DOT regulations in preparation for the new guidelines going into effect in 2014.  Under the new regulations physicians must be nationally certified to perform DMV physicals on all interstate drivers. Currently, there are few physicians who have met this certification and are performing physicals to meet the new standard.

With so many changes happening in the health care industry, many patients are feeling dissatisfied with their current health care situation. Patients find that they are unable to schedule same day appointments with their primary care physician or are having to wait for longer than average wait times. This has caused many patients to look for an alternative health care provider.  East County Urgent Care prides itself in being that alternative. With walk-in hours and a wide variety of services, provided by a friendly and knowledgeable staff, they have been a constant partner in health for the East County community.
