Just Between Friends Fort Worth Children's Consignment Sale Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Just Between Friends Fort Worth–Texas’ largest Children’s and Maternity consignment sales event featuring name brand children's fall and winter clothing and much more runs August 31-September 7, 2013 at Will Rogers Memorial Center-Exhibit Hall.

FORT WORTH, Texas - Aug. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Just Between Friends (JBF) of Fort Worth, sales event is celebrating ten years of events with their twenty-first semi-annual sale, August 31st – September 7th.  A staple to Metroplex families as well as a Top Ten Rated Sale in America by consignmentmommies.com, Just Between Friends Fort Worth is announcing a new partnership with JPS Foundation’s Shower of Love.  This partnership will provide expectant parents with needed items they may not have access to otherwise.

Held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, the semi-annual sale features thousands of items that include name-brand and boutique children’s Fall and Winter attire, school uniforms, Halloween costumes, holiday items, baby equipment, electronics, and toys.  In addition to benefiting JPS Foundation’s Shower of Love, a portion of the sale
proceeds as well as unsold merchandise is donated to local charities, Community Enrichment Center’s Open Arms Program, Teen Lifeline, and Fort Worth Metro.

For the “Wall of Wishes Project,” sale shoppers will be able to select cards off a wall that lists items that Metroplex area families request that will allow their children to get off to a safe and healthy start.  Shoppers are able to fill bags provided by JBF at the sale to be turned in when they are finished shopping.   Shoppers are able to write words of encouragement to the parents to be included with the gifts they have purchased for them.

“It’s been incredible to watch as our sales have progressed over our ten years," said Joanie Morrison, Owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth.   "When we started in 2003, it was all about shoppers being economical.  Then it became about repurposing as people began to focus on sustainability.  Then when the economy down turned, JBF Fort Worth became positively critical to Metroplex families.  At this point, shopping consignment has gone mainstream whether people like to save money, protect the environment, or you just enjoy scoring good deals!” Morrison stated.

“With the quantity as well as quality of items at our JBF Sale, people no longer have to pay retail to find first-rate items for their children,” said Morrison.  At our sale, Metroplex parents are able to save an average of 50-90% per item.  It’s exciting to watch parents come through the first time as they are thrilled to find an option to paying high retail prices.  Once they try us, they return again and again!” remarked Morrison.

“It is a sale where everyone wins - our consignors as they sell their items; our shoppers as they enjoy incredible savings; and our communities as our charities receive a portion of our proceeds and surplus merchandise,” she said.

About Just Between Friends
In 1997, Just Between Friends was created in a living room in Tulsa, Oklahoma when Shannon Wilburn, a mother of two young children, and Daven Tackett hosted a sale, while inviting 17 friends to be consigners. Promoted only in their neighborhood, the gross sales reached approximately $2,000. That’s when the idea caught on. Each season, a new, larger event was held. In 2003, Wilburn and Tackett formed Just Between Friends Franchise Systems, Inc., and began developing and selling franchises. Currently Wilburn, now sole owner and CEO of Just Between Friends Franchise Systems, Inc., has 133 franchises in 28 states and in Canada.  JBF has received national attention on numerous television shows including ABC News, The Early Show, Good Morning America, CNN, Headline News, The Huffington Post, Inside Edition and CNBC’s The Big Idea. They have also been featured on broadcast outlets in dozens of cities across the country as well as popular websites www.dailyworth.com, www.sheknows.com and Disney website www.family.com.
