Murray & Guari Trial Attorneys Support Nationwide Crackdown on Drunk Driving

West Palm Beach, FL – Murray and Guari Trial Attorneys proudly support the National Highway Traffic & Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) Drunk Driving. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. National Crackdown (http://www.nhtsa.gov/StopImpairedDriving) starting August 16 running through Labor Day (September 2).

In an effort to get drunk drivers off the road, the program’s goals are to raise public awareness about the dangers of drunk driving, and most importantly, to save more lives on our roadways. During this time period local law enforcement will be visible, will be vigilant and will let local motorists know that if they drive drunk, they will be caught and they will be arrested.

According to NHTSA, on average, someone is killed by a drunk driver every 51 minutes. In Florida, drunk driving (http://www.murrayguari.com/DUI_Accidents) contributed to 875 of the 2,978 fatal accidents in 2008. Florida was also the third–deadliest state in the nation for drunk driving.

Here are some important safety tips from NHTSA for motorists and passengers to keep safe during this Labor Day holiday period—and all year long:

* Plan a safe way home before you start the Labor Day festivities;
* Before drinking, designate a sober driver;
* If you’re drunk, use a taxi, call a sober friend or family member, or use public transportation;
* Use your community’s sober ride program, like AAA’s Tow and Go Program;
* If you see a drunk driver on the road, contact your local law enforcement immediately;
* If you know someone who is about to drive or ride while drunk, be a friend and take their keys and help them make other arrangements to get to where they are going safely.

Remember, every single injury and death caused by drunk driver or drugged driver is totally preventable. Do your part to help keep our communities safe and save lives.
